This site was the one of the first steps in opening my biology courses. Originally conceived as a MOOC, I stopped using that term as I quickly realized the Massive Open Online Course was not the best framework for my classes. Now called
BOLO (Biology Open Learning Opportunities), the virtual space is open to anyone who wants to learn more about biology as I work with my Georgia State University students.
Currently, this site hosts the newsletter archive for Principles of Biology, a collegiate course that focuses on cells, metabolism and genetics. The newsletters are daily topic points that include a writing challenge for the students.
Previous and current materials will be put here for anyone to use.
